Charitable Giving & Community support

For over 90 years, the Dunedin Boat Club has given back to the boating community and to Dunedin itself. For us, community involvement means showing up consistently, not just writing a check. Below you'll find our upcoming charitable initiatives, along with the youth and community organizations we support year-round.

Upcoming Charitable Initiatives Supported by DBC

Youth Programs and Community Organizations We Support

Other Community Programs and Events We Support

Our giving goes beyond checks. We show up.

  • Dunedin Holiday Boat Parade - We organize and manage the annual boat parade in coordination with the City of Dunedin Parks & Recreation Department's Holiday Tree Lighting
  • Dunedin Holiday Streetlight Decorating Contest
  • Dunedin Mardi Gras Parade Float
  • The creation of Florida Gulf Coast Hope Spot was championed and organized by three of our members
  • Members occupy approximately 30% of the slips in the City of Dunedin Marina

We Even Share Our Clubhouse

Our Clubhouse was shared extensively before it was lost, hosting meetings and regattas for several sailing organizations in our community. We look forward to welcoming them back once our new Clubhouse is built.
  • Dunedin Youth Sailing Association (DYSA) Meetings and Regattas
  • Windlasses Meetings and Regattas (Dunedin women’s sailing group)
  • International Order of the Blue Gavel - Dunedin Chapter Meetings (The Association of Past Commodores)
  • Additional sailing groups use our Clubhouse during local races

IMPORTANT NOTES REGARDING CLUBHOUSE USE

  • Our Clubhouse was used extensively by Dunedin Boat Club members and the non-profit, boating-related organizations listed above, and will be again once rebuilt.
  • Our Clubhouse has never been available for private parties or events, and that will remain true for the new Clubhouse as well.
