  ALL CLUB FALL KICKOFF CRUISE

  Let's kickoff the Fall 2024 Cruising Season by joining The Best of Times and the Dolphin Cruising Group of Tampa Bay and the St. Pete Sailing Association at Emerson Point Preserve on the Manatee River.  This is an annual all club sailing fleet rendezvous for DIYC, Dolphins, SPSA, TSS and any other sailing fleet clubs that wish to join us.

  WHAT'S HAPPENING:

  Details:

  • Friday 11/23 5:00 cocktails, dinner on your own.
  • Saturday 11/23 4:00pm-Dark. The dinghy dock is gone after the hurricanes, and local knowledge reports mud on beach too deep to land on beach. So let's dinghy to host boat Hula Girl. Hula Girl will provide burgers, bring a dish to pass, BYOB. SPSA will provide a bottle of rum, so bring mixers if you want them.

  The St. Petersburg Sailing Association has invited DBC members to join them for a New Year Eve's anchor out at the South Basin of the St. Petersburg Marina. 

  NOTE: This is NOT a DBC club event! Our members have been invitied to join the St. Petersburg Sailing Association as guests for this event.

  Come Sail Away with Styx at the Sound

  Come Sail Away with the iconic band Styx at the Sound at Clearwater Harbor. 

  Day Cruise or Overnight Cruise event, or come by car. Boats may tie up at the Clearwater Harbor Marina day dock or they may anchor just off Coachman Park and dinghy in to the day dock or they may reserve an overnight slip at the marina.

  Clearwater Harbor Marina Information:  

  • Day Dock - The day dock is free and open between 8am and 9pm. No overnight mooring is permitted on the day dock. 

  • Reserved Slips - The Clearwater Harbor Marina is managed via Dockwa. To reserve a slip, you will need a Dockwa account. Visit www.dockwa.com
  • Transient slip rates are around $3/ft/day. Slips range in size from 30 feet to 55 feet, plus over 1,000 feet of overnight side-tie mooring.

  The Clearwater Sea-Blues Festival returns again this year Feb. 22-23, 2025. Jam out to soul-stirring music from national recording artists, shop local market vendors and enjoy delectable seafood, craft beer and wine from area businesses at Coachman Park.  Admission is free. 

  Day Cruise or Overnight Cruise event, or come by car. Boats may tie up at the Clearwater Harbor Marina day dock or they may anchor just off Coachman Park and dinghy in to the day dock or they may reserve an overnight slip at the marina.

  WHAT to BRING:  

  • Folding chairs and sunscreen.

  CLIMB THE ANCLOTE KEY LIGHTHOUSE
  FOR A SPECTACULAR VIEW OF THE SURROUNDING WATERS!

  The DBC Cruising Committee is hosting a day-trip to the Anclote Key Lighthouse April 12, 2025.  

  Day Cruise or Overnight Cruise event. Optionally, boats may anchor out near the lighthouse and dinghy to the beach near the lighthouse boardwalk.

  REGISTRATION:

  Please register for the event by clikcing on the Blue Register Button so that we have an approximate headcount. Registration will open 30 days before the event.

  WHAT'S HAPPENING:  

  The Anclote Key Lighthouse will have an Open House on April 12 and 13 sponsored by The Friends of Anclote Key State Park. The lighthouse will be open for climbing from 10am to 4pm. Enjoy the spectacular view of the surroundings from the top of 110 foot lighthouse after climbing the 123 steps up the winding staircase to the top and get an up-close glimpse of the fourth order Fresnel lens visible for 12 Nm.   A $7/person donation to the Friends of Anclote Key State Park is requested and appreciated to climb .

  WHERE TO MEET:  

  Approximate coordinates: 28-09.90 N  082-50.42 W
  Anchor near-by and join in on the fun from 11:00 to 4pm.

  WHAT TO BRING or LEAVE BEHIND:  

  • Snacks to share
  • Yard/Beach games to play
  • Shoes (flip-flops are not recommended for climbing the stairs)
  • Dogs are not allowed anywhere on the island
