Mardi Gras Float Work Session #3

  • 02/05/2022
  • 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • 958 Douglas Ave. in Dunedin.

Join us as we continue building this year’s Mardi Gras float! This is a fun project and a great way to meet other DBC members!

This Saturday we will complete construction of the faux wrought iron grillwork on the upper deck, install two vinyl backdrops and decorative materials on the lower deck's coroplast walls, reinstall the filigree corner brackets on the lower deck's posts, prime the Hardie board for the rear mask image, prototype decorative trim for the lower railing.

Details:

  • Date & Time: Saturday, Feb. 5, 10:00am – 1:00pm
  • Attendees: DBC members and prospective members.  (For prospective members, this is a great way to fulfill your "Good of the Club" membership requirement.)
  • Address:  958 Douglas Ave, Dunedin, FL 34698
  • Location:  The float is located in the open lot behind the "Institute for Creative Arts,” (part of DFAC), on Douglas Ave., just south of Skinner Blvd. and diagonally across from the Woodwright Brewery.

  • What to Bring:  Short stepladders, tall ladders, staple guns with staples, hand tools and power tools including jigsaws, paint brushes and rollers. Drinks, snacks, sunscreen, work gloves, and a desire to have fun with other DBC members.
