Mardi Gras Float Work Session #4

  • 02/12/2022
  • 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • 958 Douglas Ave. in Dunedin.

Join us as we continue to build this year’s Mardi Gras float! This is a fun project and a great way to meet other DBC members!

This Saturday we will hang the mask panel on the rear of the float; cut, curl (with heat guns) and paint the hat elements for the front and rear masks; finalize the design and make the tri-color bunting for the lower rails; check the trailer for road readiness; and develop a plan for the decorative lights.

Details:

  • Date & Time: Saturday, Feb. 12, 10:00am – 1:00pm
  • Attendees: DBC members and prospective members.  (For prospective members, this is a great way to fulfill your "Good of the Club" membership requirement.)
  • Address:  958 Douglas Ave, Dunedin, FL 34698
  • Location:  The float is located in the open lot behind the "Institute for Creative Arts,” (part of DFAC), on Douglas Ave., just south of Skinner Blvd. and diagonally across from the Woodwright Brewery.
  • Parking:  Parking in the lot is very limited. It is better to park in front of the building or in the City parking garage, just to the south. Feel free to drop off any tools and supplies before parking elsewhere.
  • What to Bring:  Short stepladders, tall ladders, heat guns, hand tools and power tools, staplers and clear packing tape, and jigsaws. Drinks, snacks, sunscreen, work gloves, and a desire to have fun with other DBC members.
