Weedon Island Preserve - Mangrove Tunnels

(Rentals Available)

This is an easy, 3 mile path through large mangrove tunnels, with a 1 mile open water paddle back to the start point. Total trip: 3 - 3.5 hours. If you’ve never been through the Weedon Island Mangroves, I highly recommend joining us. It’s a wonderful experience!

Afterwards, if there is interest, we can eat at ‘The Crab Shack’ which is nearby and highly recommended (for the food, not the decor).

REGISTRATION:

So I know how many people to expect, please register for this event using the blue "Register" button on this event page.

KAYAK RENTALS:

Single and tandem kayaks can be rented from Ecomersion.  Please call in advance and reserve for 4 hours.  (727) 509-7629. 

Rentals are a 10 minute paddle from the ‘launch your own’ site. 

LAUNCH TIME:

Rentals will launch at 9:15 AM to meet up with the others who will launch by 9:30 AM.

There are branches and rocks in the tunnels, so no inflatable kayaks.
