Mardi Gras Float Work Session #1

  • 01/21/2023
  • 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • 958 Douglas Ave. in Dunedin.

Help build this year’s Mardi Gras float!

Our theme this year is "We are the sparkle!" It's based on a Mardi Gras saying "Leave sparkle wherever you go!" and the belief that the world can always use a little more sparkle!

There will be work sessions every Saturday from Jan. 21 through Feb. 11 ahead of the parade on Sat., Feb. 18. You don't need to sign up, just show up.

Work Session #1

The work plan includes:

  • Installing the center wall frame and front & back cross supports for the masks.
  • Trimming the top of the black coroplast sheets into a decorative pattern.
  • Attaching the black coroplast sheets to the wall frame.
  • Cleaning the three white coroplast sheets from last year.
  • Cutting the white coroplast sheets into quarters and then into the mask shape, add face outline to each.
  • Transfer the mask design onto the twelve mask shapes.
  • Clean up front and back mask panels from last year.
