Mardi Gras Float Work Session #2

  • 01/28/2023
  • 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • 958 Douglas Ave. in Dunedin.

Help build this year’s Mardi Gras float!

Our theme this year is "We are the sparkle!" It's based on an old Mardi Gras saying "Leave sparkle wherever you go!" and the belief that the world can always use a little more sparkle!

There will be work sessions every Saturday from Jan. 21 through Feb. 11 ahead of the parade on Sat., Feb. 18. You don't need to sign up, just show up.

Work Session #2

The work plan includes:

  • Cutting out, painting and installing the coroplast end pieces for wall.
  • Attaching the rows of gold and green fringe and LED lights to both sides of the wall.
  • Attaching purple lights to the upper edges of the wall.
  • Painting coroplast masks (for sides railings).
  • Cleaning up the front of mask for the rear of the float.
  • Working on PCV pipe base that will hold fairy lights for top of the wall.
  • Working on light plan for railings and back of the float.
  • Other tasks TBD.
