Mardi Gras Float Work Session #4

  • 02/11/2023
  • 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • 958 Douglas Ave. in Dunedin.

Help build this year’s Mardi Gras float!

Our theme this year is "We are the sparkle!" It's based on an old Mardi Gras saying "Leave sparkle wherever you go!" and the belief that the world can always use a little more sparkle!

Work Session #4

The work plan includes:

  • Installing front mask and rear mask.
  • Installing LED lights to both sides of the wall along the edge.
  • Wrapping lights along the railings.
  • Adding garland to edges of the side masks and installing them along the railings.
  • Installing garland on the tops of the wall and anywhere else needed.
  • Installing the PVC holders for garden fairy lights on top of wall.
  • Anything else that needs doing.

Details:

  • Date & Time: Saturday, Feb. 11, 10:00am – 1:00pm.
  • Attendees: DBC members and prospective members.  (For prospective members, this is a great way to fulfill your "Good of the Club" membership requirement.)
  • Address:  958 Douglas Ave, Dunedin, FL 34698
  • Location:  The float is located in the open lot behind the "Institute for Creative Arts,” (part of DFAC), on Douglas Ave., just south of Skinner Blvd. and diagonally across from the Dunedin Woodwright Brewery.
  • Parking:  Parking in the lot is very limited. It is better to park in front of the building or in the City parking garage, located just to the south. Feel free to drop off any tools and supplies before parking elsewhere.
  • What to Bring:  Ladders, saw horses, hand tools and power tools, staple guns and staples. Don't forget drinks, snacks, sunscreen, work gloves, and a desire to have fun with other DBC members.
