Help build this year’s Mardi Gras float!

Our theme this year is "The Wizard of Odd."

We’ll put our own twist on this classic story.

The float will include an amazing Emerald Castle along with the Land of the East where the Munchkins and Lollipop Kids live. Dorothy and Toto, the Scarecrow, Tin Man and the Lion will be there along with Flying Monkeys and the Wicked Witch, too!

There will be work sessions this Sunday, Jan. 7, and every Saturday from Jan. 13 through Feb. 3 ahead of the parade on Sat., Feb. 10. You don't need to sign up, just show up.

Work Session #1

This work session is moved to Sunday, Jan. 7, due to rain and wind forecast for Saturday.   

The work plan includes:

• Constructing the frame for the Emerald Castle.
  
• Cutting coroplast sheets for the witch's castle and the lollipops.
  
• Cutting coroplast sheets for the wheel covers.

• Date & Time: Sunday, Jan. 7, 10:00am – 1:00pm. 
• Attendees: DBC members and prospective members.  (For prospective members, this is a great way to fulfill your "Good of the Club" membership requirement.)
• Address:  958 Douglas Ave, Dunedin, FL 34698 
• Location:  The float is located in the open lot behind the "Institute for Creative Arts,” (part of DFAC), on Douglas Ave., just south of Skinner Blvd. and diagonally across from the Dunedin Woodwright Brewery.
• Parking:  Parking in the lot is very limited. It is better to park in front of the building or in the City parking garage, located just to the south. Feel free to drop off any tools and supplies before parking elsewhere.
• What to Bring:  Saw horses, jigsaws and blades, staple guns and staples, drill base and star bits, extension cords, battery operated hand tools charger. Don't forget drinks, snacks, sunscreen, work gloves, and a desire to have fun with other DBC members.
