Help build this year’s Mardi Gras float!

Our float this year is a Viking longboat.

There will be work sessions beginning Saturday, Jan. 3 and every Saturday through Feb. 14, weather permitting.

You don't need to sign up, just show up.

Work Session #2

The work plan details:

• Group #1
• • Secure trailer railings.
  • Build plywood supports.
  • Tack up coroplast so Lynn and Liza can draw the curved sides of the boat.
• Group #2
• • Cut out ten coroplast paddles.
  • Paint the front of paddles brown.
  • Attach paddles to bamboo oars.
  • Paint back sides of the paddles brown.
  • Draw designs on front of paddles to be painted later.
• We need donations of rope or line. 

What to bring:

• Battery-based and power drills with star bits and hand tools, jigsaws and circular saws.
• Saw horses and plywood to use as table tops, ladders.
• Sturdy scissors, box cutters and pencils.
• Drop clothes, paint brushes and rags.
• Don't forget drinks, snacks, sunscreen, work gloves, and a desire to have fun with other DBC members.

• Attendees: DBC members and prospective members.  (For prospective members, this is a great way to fulfill your "Good of the Club" membership requirement.)
