Help build this year’s Mardi Gras float!


Our float this year is a Viking longboat.


You don't need to sign up, just show up.

Work Session #6

The work plan details:

  • Group #1
    • Continue installing coroplast on the boat.
    • Install brace and mast, boom and sail.
    • Possibly install wave panels along the base of the boat.
  • Group #2
    • Paint tips of wave panels white.
    • Cut more shields and paint them.
    • Paint shadows to create lapped board on the boat sides following the snap lines in place.
    • Lynn and Liza will continue carving the dragon head and tail, then paint them brown.

What to bring:

  • Power tools, jigsaws and circular saws. 
  • Sturdy scissors and pencils.
  • Brushes and gloves for painting.
  • Saw horses and ladders.
  • Don't forget drinks, snacks, sunscreen, work gloves, and a desire to have fun with other DBC members.

    • Date & Time: Saturday, Feb. 7, 10:00am – 1:00pm. 
    • Attendees: DBC members and prospective members.
    • Address: Terry and Liza Hopkins' driveway at 200 Cevera Drive in Dunedin.
