Help build this year’s Mardi Gras float!


Our float this year is a Viking longboat.


You don't need to sign up, just show up.

Work Session #6

The work plan details:

  • Finish work on the bow and stern; mount dragon head and tail.
  • Finish securing mast bracing.
  • Add on to the sail to make it look messy.
  • Figure out lights, smoke machine, music (Doug's generator).
  • Attach shields to the sides of the boat.
  • Figure out how to hang skirting and trim skirting to correct length.
  • Figure out to fit the bead spikes frame to Chris Gattas' truck bed.
  • Install spikes for beads.
  • Finish painting shields for parade walkers and paint other stuff as needed.
  • Make sure the fire extinguisher is with the float for the parade.

What to bring:

  • Power hand tools, jigsaws and circular saws. 
  • Sturdy scissors and pencils.
  • Brushes and gloves for painting.
  • Saw horses and ladders.
  • Don't forget drinks, snacks, sunscreen, work gloves, and a desire to have fun with other DBC members.

    • Address: Terry and Liza Hopkins' driveway at 200 Cevera Drive in Dunedin. 
    • Attendees: DBC members and prospective members.
